What is PPP?

playpiepintTiny Dynamite’s A Play, A Pie and A Pint® is the United States version of A Play, A Pie and A Pint – ÒRAN MÓR® that originatedin 2004 at the ÒRAN MÓR Theatre in Glasgow, Scotland, under the artistic directorship of Mr David Maclennan, in an effort to bring new audiences to the theatre and to create a supportive community for writers and artists. The basic premise of the project is that one-act plays are served up alongside a “pie” and a “pint” for a low-cost ticket at a non-traditional time of day. Òran Mór’s groundbreaking lunchtime theatre program now commissions and produces 38 new plays a year, and productions have toured nationally and internationally.

The experience of attending one of the A Play, A Pie and A Pint® shows is reminiscent of the great pub theatre that is offered extensively in London. Cabaret seating with shared tables encourages audiences members to mingle, connect and interact before the show begins. Shows run under one hour, and are served up with pies and pints (or non-alcoholic alternatives). The pre-show experience includes live music, and the post-show experience mixes audience with artists. Produced several times a year at venues throughout Philadelphia, A Play, A Pie and A Pint offers the audience member a very casual and welcoming way of attending theatre.

This is a theatre experience for those who do not have time for a full-length production or money for the high ticket prices usually associated with quality theatre. We are re-inventing the theatre experience from formal to “brilliantly casual™”.

Come and see for yourself what it is all about!
